Julie offers two types of evaluations through VOICE, LLC. Her primary goal is to provide the best match between potential and current device users and speech generating devices (SGDs). That can only be determined through a comprehensive, evidence based evaluation process in which several systems are assessed directly with a client. Her secondary goal is to provide ongoing consultation and training and these are offered through VOICE, LLC. Please see tabs to those pages.
- Initial evaluation
The first type of evaluation is an initial evaluation to determine if an individual is a candidate for a speech generating device, and if so, which system is the best match given their skills and needs. If the individual is not a candidate for a trial of an SGD, Julie will assess low and light technology solutions and make recommendations.
- Longer term trial evaluation
The second type of evaluation is a longer term trial of one month duration using a specific SGD that was determined to be the best match for the user during the initial evaluation. Month long trials are required by Vermont Medicaid. Julie can provide the evaluation or via remote training for other SLPs.
